På det gamla forumet pratades det endel om ett 0,88 chip. Chipet verkade lite mystiskt, man skulle få tag på det genom att kontakta någon ur klubben ... Känner någon för att reda ut vad det är för chip och exakt vad det gör?

Kan väl mest reda ut teoretiskt vad detta chip gör. I styrdonet för tändningen sitter det ett chip, dvs ett EPROM (Elektriskt programmerbart ROM (read only memory)) Detta EPROM har data över tänding och laddtrycksreglering.

Vid 0,9 bar så avbryts tändingen (orginal) för att skydda bilen. Detta tror jag ligger i EPROM:et men jag är osäker. Alltså borde det inte finas 0,88 bars eprom utan det handlar om att justera trycket på turbon, innan avreglerigen sker.

Hoppas det kunde vara till någon nytta.

Chippet är på inget vis mystiskt.
Det är gjort av en firma i Stockholm.
Det gjordes först som en litet expriment för att testa vad som gick att göra med en 480.

Det gjordes ett sånt, till ägaren av den aktuella bilen och sen ett till, åt en kollega åt denne.

Anledningen till att det talades lite tyst om detta är att firman har rätt så mycket att göra och skulle det komma ut vitt och brett att det fanns en firma i Sverige som kunde tillhandahålla 0,88-chip så skulle dom bli nerringda av Volvo 400-ägare från hela landet som ville trimma.

De flesta trimfirmor kan tillhandahålla ett chip eller nån form av trimning som resulterar i ca. 0,75 bar så dom valde att inte marknadsföra detta chip.
Anledningen att trycket ligger på 0,88 är just för att gränsen ligger vid 0,9 innan tändningen bryts, med original styrsystem i övrigt.

Chippet går väl beställa genom den här killen men som jag fattat det så är det ingen lagervara (dom måste ha en box) utan görs på beställning och i mån av tid.

Jag är inte någon av den nämnda personerna, jag råkar bara sitta inne med informationen så kontakta inte mig om ni vill ha tag i ett ex av chippet. Det finns dock ett tredje chip, som jag har men inte använder i nuläget då bilen inte startar med den äldre typen av box det sitter i. Det ska dock fixas i framtiden så boxen är inte till salu.

Jag kan naturligtvis fråga honom om hur det ligger till i nuläget men lovar inget om dess tillgänglighet.

Jo, jag känner till 0,9 gränsen. En gång (innan jag körde 480) var jag ute och körde en 440 Tic när wasteslangen gick av när jag accelerade.... Först ett jävla drag, sen innan jag fattade vad som hände så kändes det som jag körde in i en vägg .

Om man kikar på kopplingsschemat så verkar styrningen av laddtrycket komma ifrån tändboxen (EZ 210K), om man chippar bilen, ändrar dom på något sätt med bränslet? Dvs kör man med helt originalmappat bränsle och enbart höjer laddtrycket / ändrar tändkurvan med trim chippet?

du kan ju alltid montera en progresiv bränsletrycksregulator (om de inte sitter orginal) om du skulle va rädd för att motorn spikar sönder. sen blir de väll en massa skuvande for o få den rtt, men du får mer soppa till motorn vilket reduserar risken för hål-i-kolv syndromet som drabbar vissa turbo bolar =)

avgassystemet funkar fortfarande utan skramel eller lekage?

kom på en ska till, om man tar o skrufar ner stången på wastegaten så attt den öppnar vid ca 0,85 eller liknande så skulle man ju kunna köra utan den/dom tryckvakterna som sitter innan o fortfarande ha kvar den vid 0,9, men du slipper at "köra in i väggen" som brorsan beskrev det, borde inte de funka?
